Rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care, although some people wanted more consistency in meal quality.
This was the home's first inspection. It was unannounced and took place on 23 and 24 February 2021. Inspectors spoke with people, staff and relatives, and reviewed care plans, medicines records, staff files, training records and quality checks.
The home was rated Good in all five areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. Inspectors found enough staff, safe medicines practice, good infection control and systems for managing risks and incidents.
People were treated kindly and supported to make choices and stay independent. Care plans were detailed and regularly reviewed. Activities were shaped by people's suggestions, and staff worked with health professionals and families.
Some people said the quality of meals was not always consistent. The manager took immediate action to improve mealtimes using people's feedback. The inspection found no concerns about the home's management of COVID-19 and infection prevention.
Kind and respectful care
People and relatives consistently described staff as kind and caring. Staff understood people's routines and respected their privacy, choices and independence.

Care plans included people's routines, wishes, likes and dislikes. Staff could describe people's preferences and used this information to provide individual care.
