Is it really free? What do you ask in return?
Yes. There is no subscription or account to create. Please keep the source links in the widget and the supplied code. They let readers check the figures and help people discover The Care Home Directory and PrimeCarers.
Which places does it cover?
Care home data covers England. Choose an English postcode, postcode district or council area. When there are too few published fees nearby, the widget uses council, regional or England figures and identifies their coverage. Without a location, it starts with England figures.
Where do the prices come from?
Care home figures use fees published by homes or supplied to The Care Home Directory. Typical means the median; the usual range covers the middle half of recorded fees. Private home care uses advertised PrimeCarers rates where enough are available, otherwise its national guide prices. Agency figures use collected fees where available, otherwise a national guide range. Prices are a starting point, not a quote.
Who is behind it?
The Care Home Directory is run by PrimeCarers, an introductory care agency. The widget links to the directory and to PrimeCarers. Private carer prices include the PrimeCarers fee; agencies may offer different services and support, so price alone is not a like-for-like comparison.
Will I need to update the prices?
The widget loads figures from our service, so you do not need to edit the code when our records change. Published fees can lag behind a provider’s current prices. Readers should confirm the cost, availability and what is included with the provider.
Does the widget use cookies or track readers?
The embed does not set cookies or use visitor analytics. It requests prices from our service and records limited usage information, including the embedding website’s domain and the area requested, to help us identify installations. Normal web requests also reach our hosting infrastructure. Websites opened through its links have their own privacy information.
Will it work on my website?
Use the script version if your website allows custom HTML and JavaScript: it sizes itself to the content. The iframe version is available for editors that allow embedded pages. WordPress permissions and hosted website plans vary; some remove scripts or restrict iframes. The instructions below the builder explain what to check.
Can I match it to my website?
Choose light or dark, follow the reader’s device setting, or set your own background, heading and highlight colours. Pick serif headings, plain sans-serif or your website’s own font. You can let readers change the postcode or keep the location fixed. The widget adapts to the space available, up to 520 pixels wide.
