Inspectors visited Woodfield Care Home unannounced in February 2019 to check if it continued to provide good care. They spoke with people living there, relatives, staff, and health professionals. They also reviewed care records, medicines, staff training, and management systems.

People told inspectors they felt safe and well cared for. Staff were kind, respectful, and understood people's needs, including those nearing the end of life. The home was clean and well maintained, with ongoing refurbishment involving residents and relatives.

Staffing levels were enough to meet needs and staff were recruited safely. Medicines were managed properly, though some prescribed thickener was left accessible but was quickly addressed. People had choices about food, activities, and daily life.

The management team was praised for being open, supportive, and focused on improving care. Quality checks and audits were effective. The home worked well with health professionals and involved people and relatives in decisions.
