What inspectors found, July 2022

Rated Good in every area; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care, with only minor recruitment-record issues addressed during the inspection.

This was the home’s first inspection since it registered. It was unannounced and took place on 20 April, 26 April and 09 May 2022. One inspector spoke with people, relatives, staff and healthcare professionals, observed care and checked care, medicine, recruitment, training and management records.

Inspectors found enough staff, safe medicine systems and detailed risk assessments. Staff were trained, supported people to make choices and worked with healthcare professionals. People generally enjoyed the food, and records showed people maintained or gained weight.

People and relatives spoke very positively about the care. The home offered personalised activities, including a wish project and support to develop interests. All five areas were rated Good: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. This was a planned inspection because the home had not previously been rated.
