Waterfield Supported Homes Limited - 10 Dowanhill Road was inspected but not rated; inspectors found good infection control and visiting arrangements.
This was a targeted inspection about infection prevention and control during the COVID-19 pandemic. Inspectors visited the home and checked how it managed visitors, PPE, testing, cleaning, social distancing and outbreaks.
Inspectors were assured that the home had suitable infection control measures. They found the home clean, with cleaning schedules checked by senior staff, and staff trained in infection control and PPE.
The home supported people to see family and friends. When visits were not possible, staff used technology to keep families updated. The service was inspected but not rated, so this report does not give an overall quality rating.

What inspectors found, January 2020
Waterfield Supported Homes Limited - 10 Dowanhill Road was rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care across all five areas.
This was a planned, unannounced inspection on 12 November 2019. One inspector spoke with four people living in the home, the registered manager and two support workers. They reviewed care and medicines records, staff recruitment and supervision files, training information, policies and other documents.
Inspectors found that people felt safe and were treated with kindness and respect. Staff knew people's needs well, supported independence, managed medicines safely and helped people keep relationships and take part in community activities.
The home was clean, staffing levels were suitable and fire and equipment safety checks were completed. The manager reviewed records and audits regularly, and staff said they felt supported.
The overall rating was Good. Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led were all rated Good. The previous inspection, published on 2 June 2017, had also rated the service Good.
People felt safe
People told inspectors they liked living in the home and felt safe. Staff understood safeguarding procedures and knew how to report concerns.

Staff treated people with kindness and respect. Inspectors saw friendly interactions and found that privacy, dignity and independence were promoted.
