What inspectors found, May 2019

Vision Homes Association - 1B Toll Gate Road was rated Good overall, with Outstanding caring; inspectors found safe, personalised care and a small end-of-life care gap.

This was a planned, unannounced inspection. One inspector visited on 22 March 2019, observed care, spoke with people, relatives and staff, and checked care, medicines and management records. Further information was received by 3 April 2019.

The home supported five adults with visual impairment and other complex needs. Inspectors found that people were safe, had enough staff, received their medicines properly and were supported by trained staff. Care was described as exceptionally kind and person-centred.

The home was rated Good overall. Safe, Effective, Responsive and Well-led were rated Good. Caring was rated Outstanding. The last inspection also rated the home Good.

    Inspectors found a compassionate team who valued people as individuals and understood their needs very well.
