What inspectors found, August 2018

Rated Good overall, with Outstanding responsive care and strong support for choice, independence and community life.

Inspectors visited the home without warning on 11 and 12 July 2018. They spoke with people, relatives and staff, reviewed care and medicines records, checked the building and looked at how the home was managed.

They found people were safe, medicines were managed correctly and there were enough trained staff. People were treated with kindness and respect, supported to make choices and helped to maintain their independence.

The home was rated Outstanding for being responsive. Inspectors found highly personalised care, regular reviews, support for hobbies and education, strong community links and creative ways to help people keep in touch with family.

The overall rating stayed Good, as did Safe, Effective, Caring and Well-led. Responsive improved from Good to Outstanding since the previous inspection.
