United Response - 36 Harvey Road is Rated Good; inspectors found safe, well-led care with strong support for people’s daily lives and community activities.
The unannounced inspection took place on 2 September 2022. One inspector spoke with a person living at the home, five relatives or advocates, three staff and five healthcare professionals. Records about care, risks, medicines, staffing and management were also checked.
The home was rated Good for Safe and Well-led. Inspectors found enough trained staff, safe medicines management, suitable risk assessments and effective infection control. They also found that people were supported to make choices, stay connected with their communities and take part in activities.
The overall rating remained Good. The inspection did not assess all five key questions. The other ratings used for the overall result came from the previous inspection.
Safe staffing and recruitment
There were enough staff to meet people’s needs safely. Recruitment checks, references and background checks were completed before new staff started.

Medicines were administered, stored and audited safely. Records were complete and staff training was refreshed.

What inspectors found, April 2019
United Response - 36 Harvey Road was rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care, with fire safety actions not clearly documented.
This was an unannounced inspection on 14 March 2019. One inspector reviewed care records, staff records, audits and other management records. They observed care and spoke with relatives, care workers, a manager and a health and social care professional.
The home supported five people with learning disabilities. Inspectors found enough staff, suitable training and good support with medicines, food, drinking and health needs. Care plans were personal and included people's preferences and the views of relatives and health professionals.
Relatives said people were safe, respected and well cared for. Inspectors also found regular checks on quality and good communication with other professionals. One minor record-keeping issue was noted because completed fire safety actions were not clearly documented in the fire risk assessment.
The home was rated Good in all five areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. This means the inspection found that legal requirements were met and that care was good overall at the time of the visit.
Enough staff
Inspectors found staffing levels were sufficient for people's needs. Staff said the rota was organised and allowed them to complete their work.

Personalised care
Care plans were written around each person and included their communication, preferences and support needs. Relatives and health professionals contributed to the plans.

Relatives spoke positively about the way people were treated. Inspectors observed care workers supporting people kindly and respectfully.

The home carried out monthly checks and quarterly audits by a manager from another service. These covered areas such as care, staffing, safety and records.
