What inspectors found, April 2019

Turning Point - Sybden was rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care across all five areas.

This was a planned inspection on 7 March 2019. One inspector spoke with people living at the home, observed staff, spoke with staff and managers, and checked care plans, medicines records, training records, audits and other documents.

The inspectors found that people were protected from abuse and avoidable harm. Staffing was flexible, medicines were managed safely, risks were assessed, and staff had the training and support they needed. People were also helped to eat well and access health professionals.

People were treated with kindness, dignity and respect. Their care was personalised, and staff supported their choices, independence, activities and relationships. The home had an open culture, used audits to check its work, and had a registered manager.

All five areas were rated Good: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. The home was also rated Good at the previous inspection, published in June 2016.
