What inspectors found, August 2021
The Hennessy Partnership's Living Well Street, Poppy Walk & Tom Wroe is rated Good; inspectors found caring staff and improved management, but raised concerns about the lift and medicines storage.
This was an unannounced focused inspection on 4 and 25 November 2020. Inspectors spoke with people, relatives, staff and a healthcare professional. They reviewed care records, medicines records, staff files and management records.
The home was rated Good overall. Safe, Caring and Well-led were each rated Good. People generally felt safe, staff treated people kindly, and care records reflected people's preferences and backgrounds.
There were some shortfalls. The lift serving Living Well Street had not worked for a long time, although a stair lift was installed after the inspection as a temporary measure. Medicines were given safely, but some medicines were not stored or recorded properly. Relatives also gave mixed feedback about staffing and contacting people during pandemic restrictions.
The previous rating was Requires Improvement. The home had previously breached requirements about dignity and respect and good governance. Inspectors found enough improvement in both areas, so those breaches no longer applied. Effective and Responsive were not assessed in this focused inspection, and their previous ratings were used in the overall rating.
