- Inspectors found exceptional leadership, a strong person-centred culture and robust quality checks. The home showed a clear focus on learning, improvement and innovation.
What inspectors found, August 2023
Rated Good overall, with Outstanding leadership; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care.
Inspectors visited on 9 and 12 May 2023 without warning. They observed care, spoke with people, relatives and staff, and checked care, medicines, recruitment, training and management records.
They found people were safe and treated well. Medicines, infection control, staffing and recruitment were managed safely. Care plans were personalised, staff understood people's needs, and people were supported with food, healthcare, activities and end of life care.
All five areas were rated Good except well-led, which was rated Outstanding. The report describes strong leadership, a positive culture and very well-established systems for checking and improving quality.
Strong leadership
Inspectors found the leadership team exceptionally committed and described a culture where people were at the centre of decisions.

Kind and respectful staff
People and relatives gave very positive feedback about staff. Inspectors observed compassionate interactions and support for dignity and independence.

Personalised care
Care plans included people's histories, preferences and communication needs. Staff knew people well and used this information in daily care.

Safe medicines management
Medicines were stored and given safely, with staff training and checks. There were safeguards to prevent 'as required' medicines being overused.

The home investigated concerns, used audits and introduced changes to improve care. Inspectors found evidence that learning was shared with staff.
