What inspectors found, July 2021
Rated Good; inspectors found safe, respectful care, with some care plans needing more detail.
This was the home’s first inspection since it registered. One inspector visited on 29 June 2021 after concerns had been received about staffing. The visit was announced with 24 hours’ notice.
The inspector spoke with one person, one relative, two care staff and the manager. They reviewed care records, medicine records, recruitment information and audits. They found enough trained staff, safe medicine arrangements, suitable infection control and care that met people's assessed needs.
People were treated with respect and supported to make choices, stay in touch with relatives and become more independent. The home was rated Good in all five areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. This means the inspectors found consistently good care at the time of the inspection, although it does not mean every part was perfect.
Sufficient staffing
Inspectors found enough trained staff to meet people’s planned care needs, including one-to-one support where needed. Recruitment checks were also in place.
“Staffing numbers were sufficient within the service. This included one to one support for some people to ensure their safety.” from the report
Safe medicines
Medicines were stored and given safely. The medicine records checked by inspectors were completed accurately.

“During our inspection we observed staff interacting with people in a friendly manner, giving people the time, space, and communication that was suited to their needs.” from the report
Good management
Staff said they felt supported, and audits and checks were used to identify errors and make improvements. People, relatives and staff could give feedback.
“Systems and processes were in place to ensure the provider and registered manager maintained effective oversight of the service.” from the report
Some care plans lacked detail
needs fixingInspectors found that some care plans did not fully explain people’s preferences and routines. The manager said these would be updated.
“some areas which lacked detail in explaining people's preferences and routines.” from the report
