What inspectors found, May 2018
Rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and responsive care, with all five areas rated Good.
This was an unannounced, comprehensive inspection on 9 April 2018. Inspectors spoke with people living at the home, relatives, staff and a health professional. They also reviewed care plans, staff records, medicines records and quality checks.
The home was rated Good overall and was rated Good for Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. Inspectors found enough trained staff, safe medicines practices, suitable risk assessments and good support from health professionals.
People described staff as kind and caring. Inspectors saw respectful support, activities that reflected people's interests and people being involved in choices about their care. The home had also been extensively refurbished since the previous inspection.
The rating stayed Good, as it had been at the previous inspection in December 2015. The report says there was no evidence of serious risks or concerns.
Kind and respectful care
People spoke very positively about the staff. Inspectors saw staff spending time with people and speaking with them respectfully and warmly.

Personalised support
Care plans recorded people's preferences and communication needs. Staff knew people's interests and supported both group and individual activities.

The provider had substantially refurbished the home since the previous inspection. People had been involved in choosing some of the new furnishings.
