What inspectors found, May 2022

Rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind care, but activities had been reduced during a recent outbreak.

This was an unannounced inspection on 13 April 2022. One inspector and an Expert by Experience visited the home. They spoke with people, relatives, staff and healthcare professionals, observed care and checked care, medicines, recruitment and management records.

All five areas were rated Good. Inspectors found that people were safe, staff understood their needs, medicines were managed safely and care plans were detailed. Staff were kind and respectful, and worked well with families and healthcare professionals.

Activities had been significantly reduced because of a recent outbreak. The home had plans to restart communal activities, improve the outdoor space and arrange trips using a minibus. This was the first inspection since the home registered under its current provider. The previous rating, under the former provider, was Good in 2019.
