What inspectors found, December 2018

Schumey's Corner was rated Good, with inspectors finding safe, kind and personalised care and no serious concerns.

Inspectors visited unannounced on 19 November 2018. They spoke with the two people living there, the registered manager and a care worker. They also reviewed care records and other records about the home.

All five areas were rated Good: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. Inspectors found enough staff, safe medicines practice, suitable training, kind support and care plans that reflected people's wishes.

The home had been rated Good at its previous inspection. This inspection found that the evidence still supported that rating and that there were no serious risks or concerns.

  • Safe staffing and recruitment

    People received care from a consistent, experienced staff team. Inspectors found enough staff to support people's needs, including trips into the community.
