CQC report explained · a residential care home
What the CQC found at Maple Lodge
Rated Good: inspectors found the home performing well and meeting their expectations.
What inspectors found, March 2022
Maple Lodge was inspected but not rated; inspectors found good infection control overall, but cleaning records were not always clear.
This was a targeted, announced inspection on 16 February 2022. It looked mainly at infection prevention and control, visiting arrangements and whether COVID-19 staffing pressures affected people.
Inspectors found the home was visibly clean and hygienic. Staff were using protective equipment safely, testing was available, and arrangements helped prevent visitors from spreading infections. Families also spoke positively about how the home managed during the pandemic.
The home was not given an overall quality rating or a rating for safety. Inspectors were only somewhat assured about cleaning records because it was difficult to tell which tasks had been completed and how often. They signposted the provider to resources to improve this.

This was a targeted inspection of infection prevention and control, visiting arrangements and COVID-19 staffing pressures; it was not a full service inspection and the service was not rated.
