What inspectors found, June 2019

Rated Outstanding; inspectors found exceptional, compassionate care, with safe, responsive and well-led services rated Good.

This was the first time the home had been rated. One inspector carried out an announced inspection on 17 April 2019. They spoke with the four people living there, a relative, staff and health and social care professionals. They also checked care plans, risk assessments, medicines records, training and quality checks.

Inspectors found a homely and inclusive service. Staff knew people well, supported their choices and helped them become more independent. People had strong relationships with staff, took part in community activities and were supported to improve their health and wellbeing.

The home was rated Outstanding overall. Effective care and caring were rated Outstanding. Safe, responsive and well-led were rated Good. The report says the change of provider had not affected people's day-to-day care.

    Staff had supported people for several years and knew their preferences well. Inspectors found strong, trusting relationships and a genuinely homely atmosphere.
