What inspectors found, July 2018

Rated Outstanding; inspectors found exceptionally caring, responsive and well-led support, with safe and effective care rated Good.

This was an unannounced comprehensive inspection on 2 May 2018. Inspectors spoke with people, staff, relatives and health and social care professionals. They observed care and medicines support and checked care plans, risk assessments, staff records, complaints, medicines records, rotas, incidents and audits.

The home supported up to three people with learning disabilities, and three people lived there at the time. Inspectors found enough trained staff, safe medicines practice, good infection control and clear plans for managing risks. People were supported to improve their health, develop daily living skills and become more independent.

Inspectors rated the home Outstanding overall. Caring, Responsive and Well-led were Outstanding, while Safe and Effective were Good. The previous rating was Good at the inspection on 24 November 2015, so the overall rating had improved.

    Inspectors found that support was built around each person's needs, choices and ambitions. Plans were detailed and changed when people's needs or goals changed.
