Rated Good, with Outstanding responsiveness; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised short-break care.
This was an announced comprehensive inspection on 14 November 2017. The inspector spoke with five people staying at the home, six relatives, the manager and two staff. They observed care and checked care records, medicines, staffing, training, recruitment, meals and the building.
Inspectors found safe staffing, suitable risk assessments, safe medicine arrangements and a clean, well-maintained home. Staff were trained and understood people's needs. People and relatives said staff were kind, respectful and supportive.
The home was rated Good overall and remained Good from the previous inspection on 1 May 2017. Safe, Effective, Caring and Well-led were rated Good. Responsive was rated Outstanding because the home provided highly personalised support, listened to people and adapted care, equipment and activities to individual needs.
Highly personalised support
The home worked with people and families before stays began and matched people with staff who understood their needs and preferences.

Safe care arrangements
Risk assessments covered areas such as mobility, nutrition, medical conditions and fire safety. Inspectors also found safe staffing, recruitment and medicine systems.
