Evington Home - Pilgrims' Friend Society was rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care across all five areas.
Inspectors visited on 25 September 2018 without notice and returned on 1 October 2018 with notice. They spoke with people, relatives and staff, observed care, and checked care records, staff files, training and management records.
The home was rated Good for Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. Inspectors found people were protected from harm, received their medicines safely, had suitable food and healthcare support, and were involved in decisions about their care.
People and relatives described staff as kind and friendly. Care was tailored to people's physical, emotional and spiritual needs. The home had systems for handling complaints, learning from incidents and checking the quality of care.
People felt safe
People said they felt safe, and staff knew how to protect people and report concerns. Risk assessments and incident reviews were used to reduce risks.

Kind and respectful staff
Inspectors saw staff treating people politely and with compassion. Staff respected privacy, choices and independence.

Personalised care
Care plans included people's health needs, preferences, hobbies and spiritual needs. Staff knew the plans and followed them.

Managers used audits, surveys and feedback to monitor care and make changes. Checks covered areas such as medicines, care plans, nutrition and safety.
