The latest report, explained

What inspectors found, December 2017

Dimensions Fountain House Innox Lane was rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care, with some mixed views about management communication.

This was a comprehensive, announced inspection on 29 October 2017. One inspector spoke with staff, managers and relatives, observed care in communal areas, and checked care plans, medicine records, training records and quality checks. The people living there could not describe their experience directly.

The home was rated Good overall and Good in all five areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. The rating remained Good, as it was at the previous inspection.

Inspectors found enough staff to meet people's needs, suitable risk plans, accurate medicine records and a clean, maintained environment. Staff understood people's health, communication and support needs, and people had access to health professionals and activities they chose.

There were mixed views about communication with management. Three staff had recently left, although staffing levels were maintained. The home had begun an initiative to respond to staff concerns, but it was too early for inspectors to judge its impact.
