What inspectors found, September 2017
Colliers Croft Care Home was rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and individualised care, with all five areas rated Good.
The CQC carried out a comprehensive inspection on 2 and 3 August 2017. It was unannounced on the first day and announced on the second. Inspectors spoke with people living at the home, relatives and staff, reviewed care and staff records, and checked the building.
The home was rated Good overall and Good in Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. People said they felt safe and well supported. Inspectors found suitable staffing, safe medicines processes, regular care plan reviews and staff who understood people's needs.
Inspectors also found kind and respectful care, choices about meals and activities, good support for healthcare needs, and clear ways to raise complaints. The building was clean and well maintained, and the provider used audits and feedback to monitor the service.
The home was still rated Good, the same as at the previous inspection in December 2014.
Safe staffing
Inspectors found that staff were safely recruited and that staffing levels were reviewed to meet people's needs. People and relatives said staff were available when needed.

Kind and respectful care
Staff were seen treating people with patience and respect. They used people's preferred names and protected privacy when entering bedrooms.

Care records reflected people's abilities, preferences, life histories and support needs. People were involved in preparing their care plans and their independence was encouraged.
