What inspectors found, September 2023
Charnwood Park Residential Home was rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care across all five areas.
This was an unannounced inspection. One inspector visited on 14 August 2023, as part of inspection activity between 10 and 21 August. Inspectors spoke with people living there, relatives, staff and a visiting professional. They also reviewed care, medicines, recruitment and management records.
The home supported 10 people, with space for up to 11. Inspectors found people were safe, risks were managed, medicines were given safely and there were enough staff. Staff were trained, knew people well and supported their health, nutrition, communication and choices.
People and relatives described staff as kind and caring. Care plans were detailed and personalised. The home offered activities, supported family visits and responded to complaints and feedback.
The overall rating was Good. Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led were all rated Good. These ratings were unchanged from the previous inspection, published on 26 January 2019.
Enough consistent staff
Inspectors found enough experienced staff to meet people's needs. People were supported by a stable team who knew them well.

Personalised care
Care plans included people's needs, risks, abilities, preferences and life history. People and relatives were involved in developing and reviewing them.
