What inspectors found, July 2021
Rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care, with one minor issue in the complaints policy.
This was the first inspection since the service registered. One inspector visited between 27 and 28 May 2021, spoke with people, relatives and staff, and checked care, medicines, recruitment and management records.
The home was rated Good in all five areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. Inspectors found people were protected from harm, supported by skilled staff, involved in their care and helped to live more independently where appropriate.
The home provided personalised support in people's own flats. Staff understood people's communication needs, worked with health and social care professionals, and supported activities, family relationships and community access.
The only shortfall noted was that the complaints policy did not have a date or review date. Inspectors found that concerns were still understood, taken seriously and dealt with promptly.
People were kept safe
Inspectors found effective safeguarding, risk assessments, medicines management and infection control. Staff knew how to support people safely.

Strong leadership

“There was a positive and open culture which meant people and their relatives had confidence and trust in the service.” from the report
Complaints policy was not dated
minorThe complaints policy explained how to complain and signposted people to the social care ombudsman, but it did not show when it was issued or when it should be reviewed.
“There was a complaints policy which detailed appropriate information and signposted to the social care ombudsman, however there was no date or review date.” from the report

- 03How would you support my relative to work towards greater independence or move to a different care setting if appropriate?
- 04How would you keep my relative's family informed about changes in their care and invite them to review meetings?
