What inspectors found, January 2018
Autism Together - 86 Allport Road was rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and person-centred care across all five areas.
Inspectors visited on 19 December 2017. The visit was announced. They spoke with people living in the home, staff, the manager and relatives. They observed care and checked medicines, care records, staff training, rotas and maintenance records.
The home supported three people. Inspectors found that people were living busy and independent lives. Staff knew people well, respected their choices and provided support in a calm and individual way. Care plans were regularly reviewed and reflected how people wanted to be supported.
Medicines, staffing, safeguarding, risk assessments and emergency plans were managed safely. People had access to health care and activities. The manager used audits, meetings and checks to monitor the home.
The overall rating was Good, and each of the five areas was also rated Good. The home remained Good since the previous inspection.
Independent lives
People were supported to make choices and lead busy, independent lives. Staff encouraged people without taking over.

Safe medicines
Medicines were regularly checked. One person was supported to manage their own medicines while maintaining safety and independence.
