What the CQC found at Autism & Aspergers Support Ltd
Rated Outstanding: inspectors found the home performing exceptionally well.
What inspectors found, February 2018
Rated Outstanding overall; inspectors found exceptionally caring and personalised support, with safe medicines management and a small building safety issue being addressed.
Inspectors visited the home in December 2017. They spoke with the two people living there, staff, the registered manager, relatives and health professionals. They also checked care plans, medicines records, staff files, training, rotas, complaints and quality checks.
The home was rated Good for safe, effective and well-led care. It was rated Outstanding for caring and responsive care. People were supported to manage anxiety, make choices, build independence, use local services and maintain relationships.
The report says the home had improved greatly since its previous Requires Improvement rating in 2016. Earlier problems with medicines records, management oversight and audits had been addressed. Inspectors noted that the stair railing did not extend all the way down the stairs, but action to extend it had been arranged.
