- People's needs were assessed before they moved in, and staff had training and support. Staff worked with health professionals and supported people to make choices under the Mental Capacity Act.

- Staff were kind, patient and respectful. People were involved in decisions about their care, and staff promoted privacy, dignity, independence and relationships with relatives and friends.

- Each person had a person-centred support plan that was reviewed at least monthly. Staff supported individual interests, communication needs, activities, work, education and community involvement.

- Inspectors found good leadership, regular staff support and a robust quality assurance system. The home used audits, feedback and action plans to monitor and improve care.

Rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and personalised care, with strong leadership and support for independence.
This was an unannounced inspection of the home. One inspector observed care, spoke with two people living there, a relative and four staff members. The inspector also checked care records, medicine records, audits and other information.
The home supports six adults with learning disabilities. Inspectors found people felt safe and comfortable. Staff were kind, knew people well, respected privacy and encouraged people to make choices and do things for themselves.
Inspectors found safe medicine systems, enough staff, suitable training and good links with health professionals and community services. Care plans were personalised and reviewed regularly. The home was described as well managed, with systems to check quality and make improvements.
The home was rated Good in all five areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. It was also rated Good at the previous inspection, published on 9 March 2016.
Warm and caring support
Relatives described a welcoming atmosphere, and inspectors saw that staff knew people well and treated them with kindness and respect.

Safe medicines
Medicines were stored securely, checked regularly and given as prescribed. Staff competence was also checked by the manager.

Choice and independence
People helped shape their care and daily lives. Staff supported people to make choices, take part in activities and become more independent in the community.
