What inspectors found, January 2018
182 Ashby Road is rated Good; inspectors found safe, kind and person-centred support across all five areas.
Inspectors visited the home without warning on 5 December 2017. They spoke with three people, observed care, spoke with managers and staff, and checked care records, staff files, training and quality checks.
The home was rated Good overall and Good in Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. Inspectors found enough staff, safe medicines systems, suitable training, respectful relationships and support for people to make choices and live more independently.
The home was supporting five people and was registered for up to five people with learning disabilities and associated conditions. The report says the home remained Good, matching its rating at the previous inspection in November 2015.
Safe staffing and medicines
Inspectors found staffing was based on people's individual needs. Medicines were checked, recorded and administered by trained staff whose competence had been assessed.

People were supported to make decisions, take reasonable risks and build daily living skills. Some people were supported to access the community independently or work towards more independent accommodation.

Staff knew people well and respected their privacy, dignity and personal information. People were supported to keep in touch with relatives and friends.
